Albanian Light Infantry Battalion Group receives NATO certification

The Light Infantry Battalion Group (GBKL) has been officially certified as ‘mission capable’ following the conclusion of the ‘Arbrit Shield 26’ training exercise in the Bizë training area. The certification was conducted under the monitoring of NATO representatives to ensure the standardization and interoperability of the Albanian Armed Forces with allied forces.

During the closing ceremony, Defense Minister Ermal Nufi described the achievement as a significant milestone for the Land Forces, emphasizing that modernization involves not only equipment but also improved planning and training methods. President Bajram Begaj also attended, noting that the certification serves as evidence of the military's professionalism and readiness to operate in complex environments.

President Begaj highlighted the necessity of military preparedness in light of regional security challenges, including the war in Ukraine and tensions in the Middle East. He stressed that peace is maintained through readiness, training, and strong alliances rather than passivity.
