Albanian MP Agron Shehaj Faces Parliamentary Procedure Criticism

Agron Shehaj, a businessman who entered Albanian politics, joined the Democratic Party in 2017, later split from it and created his own political platform, investing millions in media outlets and political capital. He also established the Lumo Skëndo Institute, headed by Uran Butkë, which has become known more for distributing funds and list‑payments than for academic work.

Shehaj is now being criticised for allegedly mishandling a secret parliamentary document relating to an Albania‑SHBA agreement. The document was read in the Parliament Library but was not properly logged or secured, and it is alleged that Shehaj kept it in his own office. Critics say the incident shows a disregard for parliamentary procedures and institutional rules.
