Albanian Parliament presents integrity reforms at regional anti-corruption clinic

A delegation from the Albanian Parliament participated in the Regional Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Peer Clinic held in Bečići, Montenegro, from September 24 to 26, 2026. Organized by the National Democratic Institute in collaboration with the Parliament of Montenegro, the event focused on strengthening parliamentary integrity across the Western Balkans, including representatives from Kosovo and North Macedonia.

During the sessions, the Albanian delegation presented legislative reforms aimed at aligning with European standards. These include new laws regarding conflict of interest and lobbying, as well as methodologies for corruption-proofing legislation and post-legislative scrutiny. Deputy Milva Ekonomi noted that these measures follow recommendations from GRECO to increase transparency. Additionally, Deputy Antoneta Dhima emphasized the importance of enforcing a Code of Conduct for deputies to effectively manage potential conflicts of interest.
