Albanian police arrest 38‑year‑old after firearm threat in Dibër

On the evening of 24 July 2026, police in Dibër, Albania, arrested a 38‑year‑old man, identified as F. I. of Pollozhan, after he brandished a firearm and threatened several residents on Elez Isufi boulevard. The suspect allegedly acted with 19‑year‑old K. I., also from Pollozhan, aiming the weapon at a group of locals aged 18 to 52.

Following the arrest, investigators opened criminal obstruction proceedings against eight other citizens for failing to report the incident, and against a 44‑year‑old for actions that could impede the truth‑finding process. Additional procedural material was referred to the prosecutor concerning a second 44‑year‑old suspect suspected of obstructing the investigation.
