Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama Calls Government Retreat in Pogradec Ahead of Possible Cabinet Shuffle

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama will hold an informal government retreat in the town of Pogradec on 24‑25 August, where all ministers are expected to present their priorities for the coming months. The retreat continues a tradition of pre‑parliamentary sessions and comes as the cabinet faces rumours of a reshuffle affecting at least six ministries.

Within the ruling Socialist Party, a national assembly is scheduled for 7 September, which could provide Rama an opportunity to alter the cabinet. The meeting follows the introduction of the “Besa” document, Rama’s proposed new work method for his fourth term, and a motion by MP Elisa Spiropali calling for a national dialogue on a new agreement for Albania.
