Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama faces renewed protests

Hundreds of thousands of Albanians gathered around the prime minister’s office demanding Prime Minister Edi Rama’s resignation. In his daily podcast, Rama dismissed the demonstrators as victims of “algorithm hysteria” and “half‑truths”, insisting that an “algorithm” – not public discontent – explained the protests. He rejected any accusation that the government was at fault and defended the ongoing Zvernec development project as vital for the country’s economy.

Rama’s remarks highlighted a stark split between the government’s narrative and the large‑scale public dissent expressed in the streets of Tirana.
