Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama says EU accession talks enter closing phase at regional conference

Tirana hosted a regional conference of Western Balkan countries on 26 May, focusing on digital transformation, legal security of property and European Union integration. Lorena Goxhobelli, director of Albania’s State Cadastre Agency, highlighted that half of daily applications are now processed automatically, underscoring the role of digital cadastral systems.

Prime Minister Edi Rama used the forum to announce that Albania has moved into the closing phase of its EU accession negotiations. He said all negotiation chapters have been opened and the government is now working to meet the intermediate and final benchmarks required for accession, describing the digital tools as a “blessing” for the country’s reform agenda.
