Albanian protesters oppose investments in Zvërnec and Sazan

Protesters in Albania have been demonstrating for approximately 150 days against planned strategic investments in Zvërnec and Sazan. The movement, referred to as the ‘Flamingo Revolution’, emerged in response to development projects that were reportedly linked to the investment portfolio of the Trump family.

Participants are raising concerns regarding the management of national resources, the decision-making process, and the public's right to influence such major projects. Despite facing various political labels and attempts to divert the debate from the core issues, the protesters continue to demand transparency and a voice in how the country's natural beauty and assets are utilized.
