Albanian Public Shows Strongest Support for EU Membership in Balkans

A European Commission poll indicates that 92 % of Albanians back their country's accession to the European Union, the highest level of support among Balkan states. The survey places Kosovo next at 83 %, while Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina each record above‑60 % backing. Serbia shows the lowest enthusiasm with only 31 % in favour. Among the EU's Eastern Partnership nations, support for membership stands at 71 % in Georgia, 65 % in Ukraine and 58 % in Moldova; Turkey lags at 46 %.

In Tirana, tourists staying in hotels have begun asking receptionists for maps of protest routes as demonstrations continue in the city. Officials warn that ongoing protests could affect the tourism sector and urge participants to use legitimate, constitutionally‑guaranteed channels to express their concerns.
