Albanian state institutions receive bomb threats via email
Several Albanian state institutions received threatening emails on Friday morning claiming that explosive devices had been placed within their premises. The Albanian State Police launched immediate verifications to assess the situation and determine the validity of the threats.
As of the latest reports, police have not found any evidence of explosives at the targeted locations. One threatening message featured an author identifying themselves as a ‘leader of the Serbian Militia,’ claiming to have personally placed an explosive device and threatening to detonate it. The message included political rhetoric regarding Kosovo.
The State Police, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to identify the source of the emails. This incident follows previous instances of threatening messages sent to state institutions in Albania, including a similar wave of threats in late August and a cyberattack against the Albanian Parliament in March.
