Siena police ban Albanian vandal from city for four years

On 16 June 2026 offensive graffiti with death threats against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and police appeared on the walls of the Galleria Metropolitan in Siena. The DIGOS unit of the Siena Questura, together with the local prosecutor, launched an investigation. Within six days investigators identified a 24‑year‑old Albanian resident of Florence as the presumed author. He was located during a territorial‑control operation, taken to the police scientific office for photographic identification, and charged with aggravated vandalism, threat and insult to a state body. Siena’s chief of police, Questore Ugo Angeloni, imposed a preventive measure prohibiting the suspect from returning to the municipality for four years.
