Albanian universities begin new academic year with 120,000 students

The new academic year has officially commenced in Albanian universities, with approximately 120,000 students returning to classrooms. Among them, about 20,000 students are entering higher education for the first time following the completion of the initial registration rounds.

Popular fields of study continue to be concentrated in healthcare, information technology, and engineering due to strong labor market demand. Other significant areas of interest include economics and finance. Programs such as General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, and Informatics have already reached full capacity.

A third round of admissions is scheduled to take place from October 8 to October 21, allowing students to apply for remaining vacancies. This final phase is expected to add approximately 1,000 more students, potentially bringing the total number of first-year students to 21,000.
