Albania's Foreign Ministry denies secret EU accession negotiations

Albania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade rejected opposition claims that the government was preparing a secret deal to start EU accession talks. The ministry described the accusations by the Liberal Democratic Movement (LSDM) as an attempt to create hysteria and misinform the public.

Officials said there is no hidden agreement and that the government continues to communicate regularly and transparently with EU member states, including Bulgaria, while maintaining its strategic goal of full EU membership. The ministry emphasized that no concessions are being made on national identity, language, history or other national interests.
