Albania's Q1 tourism revenue exceeds €1 billion, net gain of €363 million
In the first quarter, foreign tourists spent €1.004 billion in Albania, 14.8 % more than the same period a year earlier. About 1.67 million overseas visitors arrived, averaging a daily spend of €11.2 million. Albanian residents abroad spent €579 million, roughly 11 % higher than the previous year. After accounting for outbound travel, the tourism balance showed a net surplus of €363 million, indicating that the country earned significantly more from inbound tourism than its citizens spent overseas.
These figures, released by the Bank of Albania, underline a strong upward trend in the nation’s tourism sector and its contribution to the domestic economy.
