Albania's Socialist Party expands citizen complaint initiative
The Socialist Party of Albania is continuing its “Prania Besnike” initiative, which focuses on identifying and addressing citizen complaints regarding public services and local institutions. Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the goal of the process is not merely to collect grievances but to assist institutions in functioning more effectively.
According to Socialist Party General Secretary Blendi Klosi, the number of hearings increased by over 50% in the second week, rising from 80 complaints in the first week to 209 total complaints or comments. Regional reports indicate varying levels of engagement: Fier recorded 431 complaints, Korçë 263, Vlorë 179, Shkodër 172, and Lezhë 84. In Tirana, officials reported over 1,200 participants in meetings with citizens.
In Berat, officials noted that approximately 65% of complaints could receive positive resolutions in the coming period. The initiative aims to categorize issues by nature to allow similar problems across different districts to be addressed through a unified system of priorities.
