Albenga aids flood‑hit farmers and supports cancer‑prevention beach donations

The municipal administration of Albenga has deployed two administrative staff members to assist local agricultural businesses in preparing and submitting claims for compensation under the National Agricultural Solidarity Fund after the September 4‑5, 2024 floods that damaged crops. The effort, coordinated with the Liguria regional authority, includes gathering documents, digitising files and communicating with farmers, while the region retains full responsibility for the relief procedures. Council president Alberto Passino highlighted the municipality’s goal of providing concrete support to affected growers.

Separately, a coalition of Albenga beach establishments will donate the daily rental cost of an umbrella to the Foundation ANT’s cancer‑prevention programs on July 29. The contribution funds free diagnostic screenings, school and workplace awareness campaigns, and skin‑cancer prevention initiatives focused on ultraviolet exposure, with the municipality endorsing the effort.
