Albert Bichot Corton-Charlemagne named best white wine in the world
The 2024 Corton-Charlemagne from Domaine du Pavillon, owned by Maison Albert Bichot, has been named the best white wine in the world for 2026 at the International Wine Challenge ceremony in London.
The wine achieved this title, known as Champion White, following a series of technical recognitions earlier in the year. In May 2026, the vintage earned a gold medal, four trophies, and a score of 97 points during the initial tasting phase. The final award was decided by a second jury tasked with selecting champions across all categories.
Albéric Bichot attended the ceremony in London to accept the distinction, attributing the success to the collective daily efforts of the teams in the vineyards and cellars rather than the vintage alone. The achievement highlights the ability of family-owned négociant houses like Albert Bichot to compete at the highest levels of Burgundy wine production.
