Albert Gudmundsson transfers from Fiorentina to Lazio

Albert Gudmundsson has completed a transfer from Fiorentina to Lazio. The Icelandic player joins the Roman club on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Gudmundsson’s tenure at Fiorentina was marked by challenges, including injuries and legal proceedings. After arriving with high expectations in a deal potentially worth 28.5 million euros, his performance was hindered by a biceps femoris injury shortly after his arrival. He also faced a legal case in Iceland regarding allegations from 2023, for which he received a definitive acquittal.

Upon presenting himself to Lazio supporters, Gudmundsson expressed high motivation and pride in joining the historic club. He noted that the presence of manager Gattuso influenced his decision to join. The versatile player stated he is capable of playing in various roles, including on the wing, in midfield, or as a forward.
