Albert Heijn recalls frozen potato waffles over mineral oil levels

Albert Heijn has issued a product recall for specific batches of its 600-gram frozen potato waffles due to quality issues. Quality controls identified elevated levels of mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) in the products.

The recall specifically affects bags with the following expiration dates: July 10, 2028, or August 3, 2028. Relevant lot codes include L6191 and L6215, with the barcode 8710400510598. While the retailer stated there is no acute health risk, the products do not meet quality standards and should not be consumed.

Customers are advised to check their freezers and return the affected products to a store for a full refund. A proof of purchase is not required for the reimbursement. The recall was conducted in consultation with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FAVV).
