Albert Serra to receive Faro de Honor at Santander Film Festival
The Santander Film Festival has announced that Catalan director and producer Albert Serra will receive the Faro de Honor for the festival's tenth edition. The event is scheduled to take place from September 11 to 17.
Festival director Julia Olmo described Serra as one of the most singular and influential voices in contemporary European cinema, noting a career defined by creative freedom and formal radicalism. Serra's work has been featured in major international festivals and institutions, including the Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, and the Museo Reina Sofía.
His notable accolades include the Golden Concha at the San Sebastián Film Festival and a Goya Award for his documentary 'Tardes de soledad'. Other recipients of awards during this edition include Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, Dolores Fonzi, Gemma Blasco, and Elena Anaya.
