Alberta and Saskatchewan accelerate skilled‑worker immigration draws

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted seven provincial nomination draws between June 5‑15, 2026, inviting a total of 743 candidates across streams that target healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture and rural occupations. The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for the largest share, issuing 462 invitations (over 62% of the round). With these selections, Alberta has now issued more than 8,450 provincial nominations in 2026, out of a federal allocation of 6,403, leaving roughly 3,500 nomination spaces for the remainder of the year.

In Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) reported that 2,628 nominations have been issued as of June 30, 2026, representing about 55% of its 2026 quota of 4,761 spaces. Priority sectors—healthcare, agriculture, skilled trades, mining, manufacturing, energy and technology—received 1,466 nominations (62% of the priority allocation). The province still has 2,133 nomination spaces available and has announced intake windows for capped sectors such as accommodation, food services, retail trade and trucking.
