Alberta election officials seek workers for October referendum

Elections Alberta is recruiting approximately 2,600 election officers for the upcoming referendum scheduled for October 19. The referendum will include 10 ballot questions.

Returning Officers Shanna Ramage for Sherwood Park and Susan Oliver for Strathcona County-Sherwood Park noted that the scale of the event requires a significant number of poll workers and ballot counters. Positions are available to Albertans aged 16 and older, including shifts on voting day and ballot-counting roles extending through October 21. The roles provide paid work experience and an opportunity to learn election procedures.
