Alberta immigration program issues 1,037 invitations as federal Express Entry draw posts lowest PNP score

Alberta's Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) held six selection rounds between June 17 and June 29, 2026, issuing a total of 1,037 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). The draws targeted skilled workers in healthcare, aviation, technology, tourism and hospitality, with the Alberta Opportunity Stream accounting for nearly 70% of the invitations. By the end of June, the province had invited 9,599 candidates for provincial nomination in 2026, drawing from a federal allocation of 6,403 nomination spaces, of which about half had been used.

Separately, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a federal Express Entry draw on July 6, 2026 for the Provincial Nominee Program, issuing 534 ITAs. The draw set the lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut‑off score for a PNP draw this year at 708, the lowest since November 2025. The draw continues the trend of targeting candidates with Canadian work experience or provincial nominations.

Both programs reflect Canada’s ongoing effort to address labour shortages by accelerating immigration pathways for high‑demand occupations.
