Alberto Angela launches Noos with Christopher Nolan and Matt Damon on Rai 1

The new summer season of the cultural TV programme Noos – L’avventura della conoscenza began on 12 July 2026 on Rai 1, hosted by veteran archaeologist and broadcaster Alberto Angela. The opening episode featured a live interview with acclaimed director Christopher Nolan and Hollywood actor Matt Damon about their upcoming film "The Odyssey", slated for Italian cinemas on 16 July.

Angela highlighted the programme’s broad agenda, which will cover topics such as longevity research, serial‑killer psychology, sexuality, geopolitics and space exploration over five Sunday evening episodes. He also announced a special televised event titled "Lo spettacolo della conoscenza" to be recorded inside the Colosseum and broadcast on 27 September 2026, celebrating Italian cultural heritage.

The interview touched on the film’s Mediterranean shooting locations – Sicily, Greece, Morocco, Iceland and Scotland – and Nolan’s artistic inspirations, including Pasolini and Sergio Leone. Damon discussed the relevance of the ancient myth to contemporary audiences.
