Alberto Aquilani appointed head coach of Serie A side Sassolo

Alberto Aquilani was introduced as the new head coach of Sassolo. In his presentation he praised the club’s professionalism and culture, thanking the president and sporting director for the opportunity. Aquilani said he respects the legacy left by former coach Roberto De Zerbi and intends to build on it, while acknowledging gaps in certain positions that must be addressed in the transfer market.

He highlighted that one of his first contacts was striker Domenico Berardi, calling him a key player with rare technical qualities and expressing confidence that he will enjoy working with him. Aquilani also noted his familiarity with the club from his playing days and his belief that his generational perspective will help him relate to the squad.
