Alberto Contador discusses La Vuelta controversies and Pogacar's dominance

Former cyclist Alberto Contador has addressed recent controversies and competitive outlooks surrounding La Vuelta. The race organizers recently limited the participation of influencer Erola Jons following sexist comments directed at Tadej Pogacar, a move intended to protect the event's image and reduce tension.

Regarding the competition, Contador identified Tadej Pogacar as the sole favorite for the Vuelta, suggesting that no other rider can match his current form. He noted that Pogacar's success will likely depend on avoiding mechanical issues, illness, or crashes rather than facing direct opposition from riders like Primož Roglič or Richard Carapaz.

Contador also dismissed comments made by Lance Armstrong regarding Pogacar's motivations. While Armstrong suggested Pogacar might be chasing historical Tour de France records, Contador stated that Pogacar is focused on upcoming races and likely places little value on Armstrong's opinions.
