Alberto Gamero returns to lead Millonarios FC

Alberto Gamero has returned to lead Millonarios FC, marking the start of a second cycle as head coach. His debut in this new stage will take place this Sunday against Deportivo Pereira in a Liga BetPlay match. Due to the impact of a recent earthquake, Deportivo Pereira will play the match at the Deportivo Cali stadium in Palmira.

Gamero has already met with the squad, emphasizing a competitive mindset and the goal of winning the league title. He expressed confidence in the current roster, stating, ‘You have the team built to fight for that, you know it, that is why you were built, and we can do it.’

In addition to his return to the bench, there are reports that Gamero is interested in bringing former Colombian national team goalkeeper Faryd Mondragón into his technical staff as an assistant coach. Mondragón, currently a television commentator, would join the existing staff to provide international experience and leadership.
