Iribarne held several high-ranking positions in the Argentine government. He served as the Minister of Justice, Security, and Human Rights during the presidency of Néstor Kirchner from 2005 to 2007. During his tenure, he was tasked with accelerating trials against those responsible for human rights violations during the military dictatorship. His career also included roles as a national deputy, a constituent member during the 1994 constitutional reform, and the Argentine Ambassador to Uruguay between 2020 and 2023 under the administration of Alberto Fernández.
