Alberto Molina Navarro, a legendary figure for CD Tenerife, has passed away at the age of 83. A powerful central defender, Molina holds the club record for the most official matches played, with a total of 413 appearances.

His career with the club spanned thirteen seasons between 1963 and 1976, during which he served as captain for eight campaigns. Key milestones in his career included helping the team achieve promotion to the Segunda División in the 1970/71 season and participating in the historic 1976 victory over Real Madrid in the Copa del Generalísimo.

Before joining CD Tenerife, Molina developed through the youth ranks of UD Las Palmas. In recognition of his immense contribution to the club, he was awarded the Gold and Brilliant insignia in 1976 and was named a ‘Blanquiazul Legend’ in 2021. To honor his memory, Gate 5 of the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium was named after him in April 2026.
