Alberto Núñez Feijóo proposes abolishing Equality Ministry

Spanish political leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo has announced plans to abolish the Ministry of Equality and restrict abortion access for minors. During an interview with Cadena SER, Feijóo also stated he considers himself a feminist because he was raised around women, a claim that has drawn criticism regarding the distinction between domestic environments and structural gender equality.

Feijóo has also faced scrutiny over his handling of economic data. He recently suggested that the government is profiting from minimum wage increases by pushing workers into higher income tax brackets, a claim that was corrected by noting that the minimum wage is not subject to IRPF. Additionally, his previous assertions regarding the historical adjustment of pensions to inflation have been identified as inaccurate.
