Alberto Pugilato accused of instigating social media harassment
The Valladolid Prosecutor's Office has filed a complaint against far-right activist Alberto Pugilato, also known as Alberto González de Juan, for allegedly instigating social media harassment against left-leaning media figures.
The complaint, filed by a private individual, alleges that Pugilato used his X profiles and YouTube channel to incite, legitimize, and reinforce harassment based on ideological reasons. Specific targets mentioned include comedian Héctor de Miguel (Quequé), journalist Sarah Santaolalla, and communicator Elena Reinés.
According to the prosecution, the activist shared the dates and locations of Quequé's performances on X, using the term 'applaud him' as a euphemism for aggression. The complaint further states that Pugilato boasted about the pressure that led the comedian to cancel part of his tour. The prosecutor's office suggests these actions may constitute hate crimes under Article 510 of the Spanish Penal Code, which carries potential prison sentences of one to four years.
