Italian cinema: Sergio Castellitto short and Alberto Sordi docufilm featured

Several cinematic projects are making headlines in Italy. Sergio Castellitto will direct and star in the short film ‘Non Oggi’, scheduled for presentation at the Rome Film Fest on October 22. Produced by Dude in collaboration with Philip Morris Italia, the film explores a future where cigarettes have become obsolete, using a narrative about a man visiting a museum of obsolete objects to address societal changes.

Additionally, the docufilm ‘Alberto Sordi Secret’, directed by Igor Righetti, has arrived on Prime Video in Italy following its theatrical and international release. The film explores the private life, childhood, and family environment of the iconic Italian actor. The project was recently presented at the Chamber of Deputies and utilizes personal memories, archival materials, and reconstructed scenes to portray the man behind the public persona.

In the Freestyle Arts section of the Rome Film Fest, the film ‘I pesci non chiudono gli occhi’, directed by Audrey Gordon and inspired by the novel by Erri De Luca, is also featured. The film explores themes of love, justice, and memory set against the landscapes of Ischia.
