Alberto Stefani injured in car accident near Treviglio

Alberto Stefani, the President of the Veneto region, was involved in a road accident on the highway near Treviglio while traveling to Milan for an extraordinary federal council meeting of the Lega party.

The vehicle, which was owned by Stefani and driven by a collaborator, collided with a truck. Also in the car were Senator and Undersecretary Mara Bizzotto and the driver. All three occupants were taken to a hospital in Bergamo for routine medical checks following the impact, which reportedly caused significant damage to the car.

Stefani has since reassured the public via social media, stating that while the risk was high, he only sustained minor bruises and abrasions. He expressed his intention to return to work as early as the following morning. Political figures, including Matteo Salvini and Senate President Ignazio La Russa, have expressed their support and wished him a speedy recovery.
