Alberto Zanni proposes increased police presence in Bologna

Alberto Zanni, mayoral candidate for Una Nuova Bologna and president of Confabitare, has proposed a significant expansion of local security measures in Bologna. During a conference titled ‘Sicurezza a Bologna: criticità e prospettive’, Zanni addressed concerns regarding declining quality of life and public safety.

Zanni’s proposal includes an immediate increase of 150 local police officers. To enhance their capabilities, he advocates for equipping officers with tasers, extendable batons, and stab-proof vests, as well as providing specialized vehicles such as motorcycles and cars equipped with protective cells.

The initiative follows survey data from Sigma Consulting indicating that 70% of Bologna residents are concerned about safety, with many expressing fear of navigating the city during the day and night. The conference was organized in collaboration with Bologna Futura, an association focused on identifying local issues through structured programming rather than traditional electoral propaganda.
