Moldovan citizens detained at Romanian border on European warrants
Romanian border police at the Albița crossing have detained two Moldovan citizens wanted by authorities in France and the Czech Republic.
A 26-year-old man was identified via an alert from the Czech Republic for involvement in violent crimes and robbery. Two hours later, a 51-year-old man was intercepted following a French warrant regarding offenses against state security. Both individuals were handed over to the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate for legal processing.
In a separate incident, Iurie Manic, a Moldovan citizen, was arrested near the Romanian-Moldovan border. Manic is accused by French prosecutors of leading a coordinated vandalism operation in Paris involving graffiti related to the Ukrainian conflict, intended to undermine the morale of the armed forces. He has been held for 15 days pending extradition to France.
