Albin Kurti faces political isolation as PDK distances itself

Kosovo’s interim prime minister Albin Kurti warned that a full political solution will be sought within the coming week, emphasizing efforts to avoid a repeat of early elections. The statement came ahead of a constitutional assembly meeting and after Kurti’s talks with the migrant crisis delegation.

Analyst Azdren Shala praised the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) for breaking off any cooperation with Kurti, describing the prime minister as a “monster” and saying the move respects Kosovo’s interests. Shala linked the PDK’s stance to historic opposition to Vetëvendosje’s actions during the Hashim Thaçi vote and highlighted the United States’ refusal to back Kurti as further justification for a confrontational, zero‑cooperation policy.
