Albin Kurti targeted with eggs during Kosovo parliamentary session

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was targeted with eggs during an inaugural parliamentary session following recent elections. The incident occurred when opposition MP Time Kadrijaj threw several eggs at the Prime Minister.

The confrontation began when Kurti proposed postponing the session to organize the new parliament. Kadrijaj expressed her disapproval by retrieving eggs from her bag and throwing them at the Prime Minister. Security personnel intervened to restrain the MP and escort her from the chamber after she successfully hit Kurti with four eggs. During the incident, Kadrijaj reportedly shouted at the Prime Minister to “shame on you.”

The political climate in Kosovo remains tense. Following three elections held over the past two years, the 120-seat parliament is currently embroiled in disputes regarding the election of the Speaker, as the governing party holds only 53 seats, lacking an absolute majority.
