Albufeira celebrates 522nd anniversary with municipal festivities

Albufeira is celebrating its 522nd anniversary on August 20, marking the date in 1504 when King Manuel I granted the municipality its charter.

The commemorative program includes institutional ceremonies, the inauguration of the Albufeira Nascente parking lot and walkway on Estrada do Alfamar, and the symbolic delivery of two vehicles to the Albufeira Volunteer Firefighters.

Other scheduled events include a tribute to José Carlos Rolo in the Gallery of Presidents, a demonstration of security and rescue equipment, and basic life support training. The celebrations will conclude with the ‘ALUMIA’ show, featuring video mapping and pyromusical performances.
