Alcalá de Guadaíra celebrates carnival talent and literary achievements

The fifth edition of the ‘De Alcalá al Falla’ carnival encounter was held at the Teatro Gutiérrez de Alba, highlighting the growing influence of Alcalá de Guadaíra's musical talent in the prestigious Cádiz carnival competitions. Moderated by Manolo Casal, the event featured a roundtable discussion with local creators Pablo de la Prida, Jesús Gómez, Víctor García, and Juan Manuel Moreno, who shared their creative processes and experiences reaching the finals of the Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones Carnavalescas (COAC).

In a separate cultural event, the Teatro Salón Cervantes hosted the XXX Cervantes Chico awards. Spanish writer Beatriz Giménez de Ory received the main award for her career, while Argentine author and illustrator Isol Misenta was honored with the Ibero-American Mention for Children's and Youth Literature. The ceremony also recognized 240 students from Alcalá for their commitment to reading, coexistence, and civic values.
