Alcalá de Henares holds traditional procession of Nuestra Señora del Val

In Alcalá de Henares, the traditional procession of Nuestra Señora del Val took place on the third Saturday of September. The image, the patron saint of the city, departed from the Catedral Magistral to travel to its hermitage.

The procession was led by local police officers and presided over by Bishop Antonio Prieto Lucena. The event, organized by the Ilustre Cofradía de Nuestra Señora del Val—a brotherhood dating back to the 14th century—was accompanied by the Agrupación Musical Jesús de Medinaceli. The patron saint will remain at the Ermita del Val before returning to the cathedral in a traditional return procession the following Monday.
