Police operations in Chile and Spain lead to multiple arrests

Various law enforcement agencies in Chile and Spain have conducted operations resulting in multiple arrests for diverse crimes.

In Chile, Carabineros arrested two men in La Unión for attempted homicide and unjustified gunfire following an investigation. In Alto Hospicio, a family-run drug trafficking ring was dismantled after authorities found they used messaging apps to coordinate sales; two members of the group were wanted for homicide. Additionally, a suspect was detained in Punta Arenas for arson and was found to have active arrest warrants.

In Spain, police in Estepona dismantled a residence described as a “torture chamber,” leading to the arrest of seven Georgian nationals and the rescue of two injured men. In Almería, a cooperative leader was sentenced to over five years in prison for repeated sexual assaults against a worker. Other incidents include a dispute in El Ejido involving two shootings and a marijuana plantation, and a demand for increased police presence in Alcalá de Henares due to rising theft and cybercrime rates. In Almonte, authorities addressed safety deficiencies in local police stations and handled a domestic violence arrest.
