Alcaçuz State Penitentiary inmate escapes in Rio Grande do Norte

An inmate, identified as 38-year-old Anderson Stallone Flores dos Santos, escaped from the Alcaçuz State Penitentiary in Nísia Floresta, Rio Grande do Norte, on Tuesday afternoon. The escape was recorded at 1:31 p.m.

Authorities suspect the inmate utilized an area undergoing construction for a health module expansion to exit the facility. He reportedly managed to bypass two lines of concertina wire installed atop the prison walls.

The Rio Grande do Norte Penal Police and other security forces have launched search operations in the surrounding region to locate and recapture the fugitive. Investigators are also reviewing security camera footage and examining the construction site to determine if there were failures in surveillance procedures or security protocols.
