Alcoa volunteers deliver hygiene kits to visually‑impaired people in Poços de Caldas

Alcoa volunteers in Poços de Caldas, Brazil, partnered with the local Associação de Assistência aos Deficientes Visuais (AADV) to distribute 100 personal‑hygiene kits to people with visual impairment. The effort was supported by the dental cooperative Uniodonto and the transport firm Novo Horizonte, and included a customized braille‑labeled towel for each recipient to enhance autonomy.

The initiative also featured a workshop called “Artist for a Day,” organized with the Atados volunteer platform, where about 15 AADV participants and more than 20 Alcoa volunteers created artwork together. The project shifted from Alcoa’s usual coat‑drive campaign to address the specific needs identified by the community, promoting accessibility, inclusion and respect for people with disabilities.
