Alcoy prepares special celebrations for Sant Jordi 750th anniversary

The city of Alcoy is organizing a special edition of the Mig Any festivities to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the patronage of Sant Jordi on Saturday, October 24.

A commemorative Diana parade will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Plaça d’Espanya, featuring a musical repertoire of traditional pasodobles performed by local bands. To manage the event, the City Council has implemented a comprehensive mobility and security plan, including traffic restrictions in the city center, the Partidor, and surrounding streets starting as early as 6:30 a.m.

In an effort to promote sustainability and local culture, the Council will also distribute reusable cups and aprons featuring verses from the poet Joan Valls i Jordà. These items will be available at a stand near the Glorieta entrance during the morning festivities.
