Alcoi City Council appeals solar plant line route to protect heritage

The Alcoi City Council is pursuing legal action following a partial victory regarding the 'FV Benifallim I' solar plant. While the Regional Secretariat for Environment and Territory annulled the evacuation line's route through the Natural Park because it violated the Natural Resources Management Plan (PORN), the local government remains dissatisfied.

The Council intends to file an administrative appeal to demand that the electrical lines be buried rather than remaining overhead. This demand is based on heritage protection laws for the Font Roja and the Molinar area, specifically citing that overhead lines violate regulations for sites declared as Spanish Cultural Heritage (BIC). The municipality argues that the current regional resolution fails to address specific concerns regarding the protection of the Molinar Historic Complex.
