The IX Fira Modernista d’Alcoi, scheduled for September 21 to 27, 2026, will feature historical figures Gonzalo Barrachina and José Canalejas as the symbolic protagonists of its inaugural proclamation. The event will be portrayed by actors Rubén Mira and Juan Javier Gisbert.

This edition is dedicated to the life and work of the Alcoy-born composer Gonzalo Barrachina. The program aims to highlight his musical legacy and his role in the city's cultural history. Additionally, the festival will feature historical recreations related to José Canalejas, including the inauguration of the viaduct that bears his name.

The proclamation text is written by Ximo Llorens. The festival will include workshops, exhibitions, conferences, and gastronomic proposals, with central activities focusing on the aesthetic, music, and social life of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
