Alcoi implements employment and training programs
The Alcoi City Council is maintaining five active programs designed to promote employment and vocational training, specifically targeting vulnerable groups such as youth, women, and individuals with mental health challenges. These initiatives are supported by funding from Labora.
Three specific hiring programs are currently underway: Labora Jove (EMCORP), which funded two gardening positions; Labora Dona (EMDONA), which provided subsidies for two concierge roles aimed at unemployed women, preferably over 45; and ETRAME, which supports the hiring of staff including concierges and administrative assistants for individuals receiving mental health care through SASEM.
In addition to direct hiring, the council is running two mixed employment and training workshops: ‘Forma’t Alcoi VI’ and ‘Alcoi Bressol de la Festa i la lndústria’. Both projects last twelve months, allowing participants to combine professional experience with learning, and each has received a subsidy of 282,692.40 euros.
