Alcoi industrial project termination proposed by Compromís
The political group Compromís is moving to officially terminate the La Canal industrial project in Alcoi. Vice-mayor Àlex Cerradelo has stated that the project is unfeasible and has called on the Generalitat to declare the current Alcoi Sud protocol void to allow for more viable industrial alternatives.
In response to the stalling of the Alcoi Sud project due to land reclassification issues, the municipality of Muro has offered approximately 500,000 square meters of land to support a supramunicipal industrial zone. Compromís is advocating for a regional approach to industrial development and is urging the Generalitat to expedite the approval of the General Structural Plan (PGE) to facilitate new industrial sites.
