Alcorcón gas leak forces evacuation of hotel and businesses

A gas pipe rupture caused by construction work led to a major emergency response in Alcorcón on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred near a BP gas station on Avenida de Móstoles, specifically at the height of Fuente Cisneros, when an excavator broke a pipe during works for a new service station.

Emergency services, including the Alcorcón Municipal Police and Fire Department, established a security perimeter and cordoned off the area. As a preventive measure, the Hotel Ibis was evacuated, along with a nearby gas station and a fast-food establishment. Guests at the hotel remained outside for approximately two hours while crews worked to control the leak.

No personal injuries were reported. This incident follows a previous gas leak in the Urtinsa Industrial Estate in Alcorcón that occurred in late August.
