Alcorcón hosts patron saint festivals with drones and enhanced transport

The 2026 Patron Saint Festivals in Alcorcón feature a diverse program of cultural, musical, and technological events. The festivities include activities for all ages, such as flamenco music, family theater, mindfulness sessions, and a tourist train connecting Darwin Park with the Fairgrounds.

To manage high demand, the municipality is testing a high-frequency public transport system, providing free buses every 7.5 minutes on special circular routes. This initiative aims to connect various neighborhoods to the main festival areas and serves as a trial for improved urban mobility services.

The celebrations will conclude on September 12 with a technological spectacle featuring a drone choreography inspired by space exploration, organized by the local company UMILES. This drone show is intended to reduce noise pollution compared to traditional pyrotechnics, though fireworks will still be part of the program to maintain local tradition.
